João H. Schmidt is the chief executive officer of Votorantim S.A., a position he has held since 2020. He also serves as chairman of the Board of Auren Energia and Motiva (formerly CCR), as well as board member of Hypera Pharma, Banco BV and 23S Capital. Mr. Schmidt joined Votorantim in 2014 as managing director for Corporate Development. Over the years, he has also served on the boards of Fibria, CESP, Citrosuco, and Votorantim Siderurgia. In addition to his corporate roles, he is actively involved in global and regional business ecosystems. He is a board member of FCLTGlobal, a member of the Chairman’s International Advisory Council of the Americas Society/Council of the Americas, and a board member of AMCHAM Brasil. Before joining Votorantim, Mr. Schmidt was a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs.
