This week, En Casa continues our Colombian series with a new video by songwriter Pala (Carlos Alberto Palacio), alongside Argentine cellist Morena Leza, and the third installment of Diego Kohn's "Cartographies for the Present."

Pala (Carlos Alberto Palacio) is a Colombian philologist, physician, singer-songwriter, and writer based in Medellín, where he also teaches at the Universidad de Antioquia. He has received prizes for music and literature, and has released ten albums. His literary work includes the Pasacintas, Así se besa un cactus, Abajo hubo nubes (Miguel Hernández International Poetry Prize, 2020),and Gramática del asombro (Jaén Poetry Prize, 2023).

From Medellín, he sent us two videos. Today we share "Polvo será," a song included in his album El siglo del loro

Morena Leza is a singer, cellist, and composer from La Plata, the capital of the Argentine province of Buenos Aires. She studied at the Teatro Argentino in La Plata and has been a member of numerous orchestras and ensembles.

In 2005, she began singing and accompanying herself on her cello. Her show, "Musica Porque Sí," received several awards. Her latest release is the EP Calma, released in 2024. 

She sent us this version of Luis Alberto Spinetta's 1973 classic "Todas las hojas son del viento," which she created for a festival honoring the legacy of the songwriter earlier this year.
