Self-Care for Busy People
How-To

Self-Care for Busy People

From stressing less to setting yourself up for sleep success, we’re sharing seven simple rituals to help you feel your best–fast. (Because we know you’re busy).

Reset Your Mood with Aromatherapy

Stuck in a negative news cycle? Try using essential oils to reframe your thinking. We love lavender, chamomile and rosemary for their mood-boosting properties. Just a few drops of your favorite blend in a diffuser will have you feeling calmer in no time.

Essential Hydrating Oil

This featherweight facial oil with intoxicating geranium, lavender, and chamomile essential oils plumps your skin, moisturizes and reduces the appearance of fine lines. Pro tip: Apply to wrists and inhale deeply for an instant moment of calm.

Wind Down with Tea

Ok. This ritual takes about two minutes, not including steeping. A cup of (herbal) tea can be an essential tool for winding down, or anytime you just need a quick relaxation fix. On nights when we’re feeling anxious, we love to make our own version of a sleepytime tea with chamomile, lavender and lemon balm. Mixed with warm oat milk, it’s a calming treat that’s soothing and delicious (especially with a drizzle of coconut nectar).

Rest and Recharge

Sleeping well is so much harder than anyone likes to admit. It’s also the key to just about every aspect of our happiness and well-being. Studies show that 68% of Americans have trouble sleeping at least once a week. Mindfulness practices such as meditation can help with insomnia, but for busy people, it can be hard to find the time. Here are some of our favorite ways to prep for a good night’s sleep:

Vagus Nerve Bath Oil

Dump a generous dose of our new Vagus Nerve Bath Oil into the tub–a magical blend of chamomile, lemon tea tree, juniper berry, Moroccan rosemary and lavender oils that smell like “calm.” This supremely soothing soak helps promote a sense of serenity while softening and moisturizing skin, courtesy of some very beautiful botanical oils, including apricot, avocado, grapeseed and meadowfoam. Soaking in this relaxing bath (even if it’s just for a few minutes), leaves every inch of your skin petal-soft and melts away even the most tightly wound stress.

Gigartina Therapy Bath

Here’s another option: Sprinkle about a cup of our Gigartina Therapy Bath into a very warm bath. The mineral-rich powdered seaweed delivers skin-softening hydration, while the lavender blend preps for a good night’s sleep—and smells like heaven. Don’t have a bath? Fill a large bowl with warm water and treat feet to a relaxing, seaweed-infused soak.

Vagus Nerve Pillow Mist

Spritz your pillow and linens with this soothing solution for when you’re tired of counting sheep. Infused with beautiful chamomile and lemon tea tree, it delivers all of the doze with none of the daze.

Try Tapping

Address anxiety in just a few gentle taps by learning how to activate key acupressure points with the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). When you’re feeling stressed or stuck, gentle body tapping, such as under the eyes, can provide some amazing relief. The best part? It’s totally free and takes about five minutes max. Learn how to tap here.
